Shibuya Crossing Shy Dress

Shibuya Crossing Shy Dress

£700.00

The shyness, humility and constant strive for perfection are meeting together at a crossroad in Tokyo. Drawing its inspiration from kimono, this dress seeks to reenact the same effortlessness specific to Japanese culture.  That’s the snapshot of a quick impression. But when one takes a deeper look, this dress goes beyond that core inspiration. The extra-long sleeves are thought to be an extension for your hands, the hands that carry flowers, the hands that heal and caress. The cord allows for multiple styling directions.

Poem

I bow down to the essence of life

to this warm tea that’ll rejuvenate my cells,

to these freshly picked flowers from my garden;

I put on this kimono-dress

with its elongated sleeves

to hide my shy hands;

I leave the most silent trace of existence behind me,

At this crossroad of life, I find myself from time to time

reminiscent of my past urban life

repetitively happening at that Shibuya crossing,

I tighten the cord on my waist

fully ready for a slow ritual

to dine, to nourish, to feel and taste

the essence of life in its various infinite forms;
